Total Mobility Scheme

Environment B.O.P. (Bay of Plenty Regional Council) administers the scheme in the Bay of Plenty region.  The scheme provides financial assistance – by the way of a voucher that entitles registered users to a 50% discount on taxi fares.  The user is required to pay the other half of the fare to the taxi driver, at the time the trip is taken.  Users of the scheme must carry a Total Mobility photo ID card to be able to use the vouchers.

To be able to use the Total Mobility Scheme a person must first have an assessment by a registered assessor. CCS Bay of Plenty is an accredited agency for the Total Mobility Scheme. This means that CCS has Support Workers who able to carry out assessments for the Scheme. An assessor can come and visit you in your own home. The assessment will cost $36.50, including the cost of the ID card. The applicant also needs to provide a recent passport-sized head and shoulder photo for the ID card (in the Tauranga area CCS assessors can do the photo for you at an extra cost of $2.00).  CCS Bay of Plenty does assessments for people under the age of 65 years.  Once the person is approved to use the scheme they just need to contact CCS for more vouchers.
