Information Service
Our main focus is to provide information to empower and assist people with disabilities to be included in the community.

What is the NZCCS Information Service?

This national library and information service was set up to provide information about disabilities.

Who can use the Service?

You can, and anyone who needs to know about disability issues; staff, people with disabilities, families/whanau, caregivers, volunteers, health professionals, service providers, support groups, researchers, students...

What subjects can I get information on?

You can get information on a wide range of subjects relating to disability.

These are some of the subjects available; education, recreation & leisure, health issues, access, parenting, income support policy, international trends and volunteering…

We also provide information on specific conditions, and disabilities,  e.g.: cerebral palsy, spina bifida, muscular dystrophy, autism…

How can the Service help you?

We can send you information in any format you want - books, videos, journal articles or a list of addresses for support organisations.

To help with your search we can send a printout from one of our in-house databases or we can   access Te Puna, the National Library database, and many other local databases.

Staff are also skilled in searching for information on the Internet. Please ask about this service.

We work closely with other libraries and information services in the disability sector and will point you in the right direction if we cannot help you.
